Draft Commissioner - scottrconnell@gmail.com

Looking forward to 2010-11

June 2010

Well, we had quite the year with the draft here, and we're going to make a few tweaks with the draft to make it even better for next season!

Some changes will include - changes to the scoring system (to make skaters points more on par with goalies), the end of the head to head system in the playoffs and a new seperate rotissarie playoff component, as well as more free agent pickups and an IR spot for next year.

Oh yeah, and two new teams!

So, existing owners, I need you to answer the following questions (and EMAIL them to me scottrconnell@gmail.com) as soon as possible!

1. Are you staying in the draft? If not, email me immediately!!! We need people who will pay attention, checking on their team at least once a week, which is not that much. If you can't be expected to do this, we will find owners who will. If you want to change your team name etc, include that too.

2. I need an email address I can get a hold of you on that you check regularly.

3. Submit your 10-player protected list for the expansion draft. We will each lose 4 players in the expansion draft, two to each brand new team. You can protect any 10 players on your team you like. After the expansion draft, you will be required to drop one additional player. We will have our annual draft (seperate from the expansion) tenatively on the evening of Tuesday August 10, 2010.

4. Submit any rule change ideas you may have. My co-commissioner and I will look them over and put them to a vote if we think it is needed (at the annual draft) At this time, we are thinking of putting a cap on the number of goalies a team can carry, as well as changing the roto system during the season to ONLY include lineup points per week.

* Include any comments or concerns you might have from the first year of the draft.

FYI, I've appointed Chris, of "Whiskey" fame, to be my co-commissioner starting next season to lighten the load a bit. Plus, the man's got some great ideas!

October 2009

Gents, this is the website for the draft, where I'll typically put stuff that I don't have room for on the ESPN pool tool. For now, I'll probably just have the official rulebook up here. Eventually, I hope to add some blogs and stuff to liven the joint up.

Hopefully for next year we can continue to grow this thing and this website will take on more meaning. More people equals more money!
